From the Yosemite area, we drove north to Winters, CA, a small town just north of Vacaville and west of Davis. The RV park we stayed at is located on the Putah River and we had a river view site.

Many years ago, before Maui, when I lived in SoCal, I used to visit Winters with friends of mine from Brazil, Ruth and Dudley Sparks and their daughters Christiana (Kitty) and Karina. So I was hoping to be able to connect with them, which we did. We had a real nice visit with Dudley and he filled us in on all his family news. They all used to live in Brazil and just came up during our summer (Brazil's winter).

Dudley has lived full-time in Winters now for several years following a battle with cancer. He's now 77 and in great shape. Ruth died a couple of years ago (also from cancer), and we just missed seeing Kitty and her daughter, Alisandra, too. They had returned to Brazil the week before after a six-week visit. Dudley also showed us photos of his visit last year to Karina, who now lives in Rome and works in the film industry.

Dudley's 'ranch' used to grow both almonds and oranges, however, due to an irrigation problem, he's taken out the almonds and so far, just has oranges, although, he may plant something else where the almonds used to be if he can resolve the irrigation problem.

While in Winters, we drove down to Vacaville for Terry to get a new cel phone and he also tried to get a newer and faster Verizon air-card for our internet use, however, for some reason, it didn't work, so we're still using my T-Mobile air-card that's 2 1/2 years old and isn't as fast, nor has as much coverage as Verizon. So we'll see what we might be able to do sooner or later.
