Jaisalmer is truly an exotic mirage in the desert. Camels, humungous turbans, staying within the mud-walled city...you start to doubt it was real once you leave. It's wonderful to sit in a tea shop in the ancient city, enjoying chai and saffron-and-dried-fruits "kheer", overlooking the rest of the city and far out into the Great Thar Desert.
