Hi guys,

Yes, well here we are in Laos and what a fab place this is. Before I tell you all about the place I must tell you of my scared/brave husband.

So the first option reads Kev's side of the story and the second is my view on how things were.

So we were staying at at guest house which had a huge rottweiler. By day it was in a cage and by evening, unknown to us, it was not. We came home at about 10 pm and were tallking to the boss's brother and asking for some water when suddenly a fierce rottweiler/a happy rottweiler came bounding towards Kev. The rottweiler attacked Kev/playfully jumped up at Kev and he pushed me out of the way/jumped behind me. In doing so he bravely saved me/pushed me infront of the rottweiler and the dog wripped his flip flop/ he tripped over his flip flop. The flip flop broke and Kev was very brave/looked really scared and screamed. He spent the next 10 mins running away from the dog, in and out of the chairs of the restaurant whilst pretending not to be at all scared. I thought I was the one who didn't get on with animals!

So here we are in Laos. First we went to Vientiene which we really liked. A city but with style, mainly French style colonial kind of buildings and good old French baguettes which pleased me to no end. We stayed only for one night and got the VIP (not as it sounds) bus to Vang Vieng which was about 4 hours north. This is the activity area of Laos which is based around the Mekhong river. You can go tubing down the river, kayaking, hiking and so on. Guess what we did? Absolutely nothing because Kev hurt his back and nurse Lea/Taylor was massaging like a mad person for 4 days. Well we enjoyed our lazy time anyway but did miss the kayaking. We spent a lot of time watching films in bars and generally eating and drinking really. We met a couple of English - Sarah and Mike who were good company and spent a couple of good nights chating with them. Kev's back was on the mend so we moved onto the next place Luang Probang where we are now. This is one of my favourite places. WE have a good room for 7 dollars and the architecture is superb here. Lots of colonail buildings with shutters, all different colours, very French again. The people are really friendly and we have decided to stay for about 6 days. JUst had a 2 pound massage for 30 mins, Kev going for the full works (massage only I hope). Off to the waterfall tomorrow which looks good too. Food a bit more expensive here as there are some expensive, chic restaurants but we have managed to find the cheap ones too - do we surprise you? Living on about 20 pounds a day between us or less some days. Seen too many lovely things in the night market though. Bought a pair of trousers for a pound last night and tonight going to search out some silk bargains!

Anyway, off to Siem Reap - Angkor Wat (Cambodia) on Thursday. Decided to fly - the flashpackers that we are, to miss out 2 14 hour bus journeys. Got to be worth it!

LOve to you all. Miss you heaps. Let us know hopw you are all doing please. Ann and Mick are you getting these emails? Better go and make sure Kev hasn't fallen asleep on the massage table.

Prince says Hi
Prince says very happy to hear all your news. The font type is sooo big for me, but if I get someone to copy and paste it for me I can get it at point 0.001 size, which is just right for my own special nano-computer. On my secretary's computer I usually sit on the tab key while she does this. Have you seen any princely things on your travels? Tiny little head scarves or perhaps a diddly t-shirt? We have had fine weather here, and I thought of you while I was in the garden the other day under my cocktail umbrella. Lots of love, Prince

Hi from Mumsy
Bank Holiday Monday 7th May 07
It has been raining most of the day as per usual on a Bank Holiday.
Glad to hear all is still going well and I don't blame you getting a plane, I am sure it will be better for poor old Kev if his back is bad again. Pesky nuisance isn't it. I received your other e-mail and passed on the messages to the Drings and Leas as requested and look forward to receiving the parcel later on. I'm intrigued to know who prince is, sounds fascinating. Katie is off to Africa in July she goes the week after you come back - not the same area as you will be going to though. Stay clear of that dog both of you. Love from Mum and Dad xxxx

At last figured out how to use this thing.
Hi Chez and Kevin, sounds like you are having a fab honeymoon. Very envious of you. We have finally been following your journey - this site is amazing. Glad you met up with Derek. Kev that rotty sounded vicious, I reckon you were lucky to survive (Mick). Look forward to your next adventure. Take care.
Love Ann, Mick, C & C.
