Up at 6.15 am and it's freezing.  Carly, Fabien, Andrew and Richard all slept outside (crazy stuff!!).  We are off on time for once making out way to a hostel in Chicago.  The journey was pretty uneventful but we all perked up once we hit down town Chicago.  The views of the buildings in the city are amazing.  The hostel is full of character and actually alot nicer than some budget hotels that charge more than hotels per night for a 2 person room. There are just four of us - myself, Carly, Laura and Becca sharing a 6 person room complete with 2 single beds and 2 bunk beds.  We are all so happy not to have to pitch tents (yes already!!) and even more excited that our room has a hairdryer - oh the little things.

Tonight we head out for some real Chicago town pizza at Edwardo's.  The pizzas here are huge and defininitely worth the rather long wait - to be fair to them there were 25 of us.  We got our drinks order (sadly Alan not allowed anything as he left his passport in Newark!!) but I sneak him some of my Strongbow.  Believe the staff when they tell you that a small pizza is plenty for one person so despite sharing one small deep pan with Amy and a stack of onion rings we still couldnt finish between us.  Me and the girls + Alan and Owen head back with bag and bags and more bags of pizza while the rest of the group head off to do Bobby's bike hike.  I heard that this was pretty scary - running red lights while full up on pizza doesn't make for the best evening in down town Chicago - unless you like that sort of thing.

Back at the hostel Alan writes a lovely message in my scrap book and gives us the name 'Deep Dishettes'.  Because we are deep and we like pizza - yes they laughed too!  We are all in a food coma by midnight so nothing much more to report other that we are up early tomorrow for a free day - which our lovely Laura has planned for us.
