It was kinda sad doing the last "tour" of London as I got to thinking about the first time I'd seen the sights. It was back in 1993, I was newly married to a man that adored me and living in a city I'd dreamt of my whole life. Ten years on the marriage has ended but the man is the father of my beautiful children, and while London will always be a great place to visit I know I could never live there.
In hindsight getting Charlie ready for sale was pretty hilarious, but at the time was one of the most frustrasting experiences of my life
Once that was all settled I was on the first plane outta there. Lovely Wes came to see me off at the airport and Gary who had flown in to Heathrow from Sydney earlier that day decided to stick around for a few hours so he could see me off also. Never mind that it had already been almost 6 months since I'd seen him and that we'd both be back home in Sydney in a few weeks time - he waited. Aw shucks - it's enough to make a girl feel special.
This time checking in my baggage was a breeze as I managed to squeeze everything I needed into a carry-on including five pairs of shoes. Don't ask me how I did it, I wouldn't be able to tell you. What I can tell you is that there is now 60kgs of my stuff on its way back home via sea freight - I figured it would be a hell of alot easier, not to mention cheaper, doing it that way than me having to cart it all around with me.
So you'll all have to wait a little while for your pressies...
