Where I stayed
Next morning woke up early because my stomach was hurting alot, quickly had a bun with a banana and I was ok again. At about 7:30 am Tati and her grand mom were awake
By the way - Recife means "Reefs" - as the name - the beaches are ful of reefs and quite famous for shark attacks. So we got to the island - it was really nice , there was probably only a few other people there - we sat there at the beach for a while , and then got into the boat again , this time Tati took us all the way to the other side of the coast - to a place which was like a pool - it was right into the middle of the transition from the river to the sea - pretty awesome - basically this puddle or pool of water which gets warm because it is right on top of the reefs and the water gets warmer because it is more stagnant that the surrounding water which is flowing. We all went there and just sat there - Tatis dad was extremely amusing, making us laugh all the time - it was really loads of fun. And you know me , how impossible it is for me to stay in cold water - but the water was actually quite nice - when we got to the pool, the winds had picked up so it was quite cold because of that, the water was really nice though , so i just stayed in the water the whole time - it felt good to be doing nothing but just sitting there and enjoying the scenery.we had the broiled chicken in between - it really tasted good
After that we all got into the boat again and continued to go the other side , reached an area where there was sand showing because the tide had gone low - i loved the fact that the whole time we were lingering between the sea and the river , so we stopped at the sandy area , took a couple of photos and then carried on to the place where Tatis usually likes to water ski - we didnt have time to do it , but the place was so beautiful - unbelievable really.
After that we went to another island, to have lunch / snacks - it was around 3 pm by then - when we got off at that island - Tatis dad made me follow him into the marshes - my God it was weird walking in knee deep muck - again another first time for me - this trip really had a lot of "first times" - we had a lot of fun getting dirty - took some pics again and then came out of there, washed up in the sea and sat down to have food - the food was EXCELLENT - so so so yum - and so so so cheap - 5 of us had a couple of crabs, a full fish and a seafood soup kind of thing and each of us only had to pay 6 reais, unbelievable really - only possible to have food like that for so cheap on an island in Recife !
It was time to go home , the sun was setting , we had a flight to catch , so we started on our way back - i actually ended up falling asleep in the boat, but then woke up in time to see the beach houses - so good - all modern in design and you could see how nicely each one was constructed, unlike in Miami you could get really close to these houses - they were really just beach houses. We then docked the boat - rushed to Tatis dads beach house , washed up , got changed and immediately made our way to the airport. We were really late , and to help us catch the flight , Tati's mom brought our bags to the airport.
Reached Rio at around 11:30 pm - what a trip - was so busy, so tiring - but so fulfiling.
