Tati, her hubby Ze and I left Friday from Rio ar 11:30 pm , reached Recife at 2:30 am. I met Tati's family and went to sleep. The next day we all had breakfast together and went out for a city tour. There was also a fair we went to where I bought some dresses and wind chimes. We then had to go home quickly because we had a marriage to attend to later. I got my hair blow dried and my eye make up done by Tatis; cousin.I wore Tati's dress , a realy nice dress made of lace material. BTW this was the first time I was attending a marriage in a church and it was also my first time that I was wearing a dress like the one I had on - the after party was loads of fun as well. Stayed there and danced till like 12 am. Reached home and went to sleep immediately. Slept hard, my stomach was giving me problems again.
Next morning woke up early because my stomach was hurting alot, quickly had a bun with a banana and I was ok again. At about 7:30 am Tati and her grand mom were awake . We all had breakfast together again, got my bags packed since we were taking the flight that evening it self, and was ready to leave at 8:30 am. Tati's dad came to pick us up in his Brazilian version of a Wrangler - but the jeep did not have enough space to have us as well as the luggage so we left the luggage behind. We then set off for the beach - Ze drove and it took us about over an hour to get there.Tati's dad then went to get us some chicken and loads of beer while we got te boat ready. Seriously, for the first time i felt how amazing it was to have a beach front house and your own personal motor boat. So we first set off to an island , we had to cross from the river to the sea, and it was cool seeing the waves getting as high as they did. really felt like 5th Cat white water rapidsbut really a lot more fun since I wasnt doing anything, just sitting back and enjoying the rocking and rolling motion. The water wasnt that clear because it had been raining alot and so the water was quite brown instead of being blue / green.

By the way - Recife means "Reefs" - as the name - the beaches are ful of reefs and quite famous for shark attacks. So we got to the island - it was really nice , there was probably only a few other people there - we sat there at the beach for a while , and then got into the boat again , this time Tati took us all the way to the other side of the coast - to a place which was like a pool - it was right into the middle of the transition from the river to the sea - pretty awesome - basically this puddle or pool of water which gets warm because it is right on top of the reefs and the water gets warmer because it is more stagnant that the surrounding water which is flowing. We all went there and just sat there - Tatis dad was extremely amusing, making us laugh all the time - it was really loads of fun. And you know me , how impossible it is for me to stay in cold water - but the water was actually quite nice - when we got to the pool, the winds had picked up so it was quite cold because of that, the water was really nice though , so i just stayed in the water the whole time - it felt good to be doing nothing but just sitting there and enjoying the scenery.we had the broiled chicken in between - it really tasted good.

After that we all got into the boat again and continued to go the other side , reached an area where there was sand showing because the tide had gone low - i loved the fact that the whole time we were lingering between the sea and the river , so we stopped at the sandy area , took a couple of photos and then carried on to the place where Tatis usually likes to water ski - we didnt have time to do it , but the place was so beautiful - unbelievable really.

After that we went to another island, to have lunch / snacks - it was around 3 pm by then - when we got off at that island - Tatis dad made me follow him into the marshes - my God it was weird walking in knee deep muck - again another first time for me - this trip really had a lot of "first times" - we had a lot of fun getting dirty - took some pics again and then came out of there, washed up in the sea and sat down to have food - the food was EXCELLENT - so so so yum - and so so so cheap - 5 of us had a couple of crabs, a full fish and a seafood soup kind of thing and each of us only had to pay 6 reais, unbelievable really - only possible to have food like that for so cheap on an island in Recife !

It was time to go home , the sun was setting , we had a flight to catch , so we started on our way back - i actually ended up falling asleep in the boat, but then woke up in time to see the beach houses - so good - all modern in design and you could see how nicely each one was constructed, unlike in Miami you could get really close to these houses - they were really just beach houses. We then docked the boat - rushed to Tatis dads beach house , washed up , got changed and immediately made our way to the airport. We were really late , and to help us catch the flight , Tati's mom brought our bags to the airport.

Reached Rio at around 11:30 pm - what a trip - was so busy, so tiring - but so fulfiling.
