Arrival in Tokyo.

Excited to have booked a "hotel" instead of a
hostel to start off the trip. Turns out a hostel room might have been a
bit larger...

First morning wake up at 3:30 a.m. to head to the
fish market and see the auctions for the large tuna. Check out the eyes
on those red fish. This is where we met our two new friends who asked
if we knew how to speak french...as though english wasn't good enough.
We spent our most expensive meal this morning on a sushi breakfast at
the fish market after not realizing the normal price for food.

We strolled through the Imperial Palace Garden, saw the Yasukuni shrine and walked through Hibiya Park.  The parks in Japan are beautiful and a breath of fresh air from the pollution of the cities.  The temperature difference standing outside of the park vs inside was crazy.

Our first day of travelling is when we were introduced to Miso-Ramen, a new favourite dish.  A soup dish with noodles and a bit of meat.  The broth was amazing.  We quickly learned how to use chopsticks and slurp our boiling hot food.

Day two we were introduced to gamers paradise in Japan.  Crazy gaming places and tones of them.  We didn't have a clue how to play any of them, but they were sure packed with old, young, male, female...whoever.  We also explored Harajuku.  Crazy!  Packed shopping streets with the wackiest outfits that you couldn't picture anyone buying until you see someone wearing it around the corner.

More parks, more districts, more shopping, much walking by this point....barely moving anymore.  On to Hiroshima!
