Swaziland is a small, land-locked country that is bordered by South Africa and Mozambique. We were only there for a night, but we did a tour on the second day.

We drove from Kruger National Park, in South Africa, to Swaziland, which was about four hours. We stayed at a hotel called Forester Arms, which was up on a hill. The food was good, but it was all very heavy and English-style. We have been trying to find a place that serves traditional African food, but haven't found one so far. The next morning we had our tour, where we went to a fresh produce market. We bought a bag of tangerines. There was a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables, and in the back there was a little food court, selling maize and sour porridge. Then we went to a cultural village and saw a dance as well as walked around. The houses looked like beehives, and it was very dark inside. A man would have one himself, and one for each of his wives. Usually a man had two wives. Each wive would have her own sleeping hut, one for making beer, and one for cooking.
The dance was very nice. Young girls wore different clothes from married women. They also sang.

In Swaziland, it is a custom when one points at something holy or royalty, they point with their fist, not their finger. It is considered rude to point. Also, it is also considered rude to look someone in the eyes when talking to them.

Swaziland was different than I expected, 60% of the people grow just enough for themselves. 50% of the people in their twenties in Swaziland have HIV/AIDS. The population is 1.4 million, and the people speak SeSwati and English. Most people are Christian.
