Brendan: We are having a great time the on the trip so far. We left Yellowstone today and we are heading to Glacier National Park. We saw bison, lots of bison.
Rebecca: OK, yes, we have seen lots of bison (aka buffalo) but we have seen lots of other things like … bison, prong horned deer, white-tailed deer, moose, elk, a bald eagle (a baby bald eagle too), and a coyote. Out of all the places we’ve been to so far my favorite park is probably Yellowstone.
Brendan: We saw old faithful and it was cool. Actually, we saw a video too. It worked like this: hot lava heats the water inside old faithful and blows the hot water in the air. It smells like rotten eggs but like I said it was cool!
Rebecca: Yes… thank you Brendan. OK, yes, it did smell like rotten eggs but old faithful was actually ten minutes late! Anyway the hot springs didn’t exactly smell like a basket of roses either though! But you get used to the smell after a while. Did you know that Yellowstone is actually a big eroded down volcano?
Brendan: We got to kayak part of the Snake River in the Grand Teton National Park. It was really cool when the currents drifted us around in circles. When Darian splashed me, it felt cold but really it felt good. You could see snow on the top of the mountains. It made me want to make snowballs.
Rebecca: Yeah! And make snowmen! But I didn’t go kayaking my mom and I went to see the grand Tetons and she said that my grandpa loved them and one called El Capitan, but that’s not until we get to Yosemite.
