Well, after nearly 4 weeks in Mumbai, with a weekend to Murud, we will (fingers crossed) get on the Road this St. Patricks day. Enda has his Bike a few days a '91 Royal Enfield 350cc in a tasty silver colour. I have Just purchased my bike a 1968 Royal Enfield 350 in a classic  little black no. We will get pics on asap, they really are sweet Bikes.

At 4:40am (took 10 mins to start the bikes) under the spell of darkness we left Mumbai, and our hostel called Garden View in Andheri, North Mumbai. Ireland had beaten Pakistan an moment earlier and the Omens were good for a pleasent trip. Considering our relative (complete) inexperience on Motorbikes we left slightly aprehensively, not knowing how to get out of the city, how we were going to cope on the bikes and what lay ahead for us on the manic Indian roads. Alas all was good, we made it to the highway and got out of the city as dawn was approaching. The roads got gradually more .. .... active, and the % of trucks v anything else was about 90%. We rode till 2pm taking hourly breaks, and reached Daman a coastal watering hole in an otherwise dry Gujarat. Our smog ridden tops, sunburnt hands, and saddle sore bums testiment to a good days ride. Although slighthly dawnting the trip was good and we cant wait for the roads ahead.
We now have just under 6 weeks to 'blaze' up through Northern India, taking in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Himanchal Pradesh and as much else as we can comfortably and saftely do while still getting back to Mumbai for our flights to Istanbul in late April. Lets get it on TBC...........
