Awaken early to jump back on my new second home, the Magic Bus, now heading further south along the west coast (gets a little confusing down here, I'm pretty sure it's the west coast!!). Today, I'm traveling as far as Greymouth. Along the way, I am grateful to witness some fantastic scenery. My bus mates and I walk along the Truman Track to a wonderful secluded pebble beach, where the waves have washed the rocks into tiny bits of smoothed, fragmented rock resembling those weird ice cream bits that I've never eaten. We also visit Pancake Rocks, which, as you imagine are flattened and quite large, and see several blowholes where the ocean has created spectacular funnels of energy, the water surging into the volcanic rock formations all at once. All along the pathway, gushing fountains splash over you if you are not paying attention! This is especially welcome on a scorching summer day, and I enjoy nature's playfulness and the spectacular vistas on today's journey.
