I didn't fancy the 'maybe' 19 hour bus from Vientiane into Vietnam and it's not possible to fly direct without incurring a huge bill. So the cheapest way - about 1,000 miles out of the way, via Kuala Lumpur! :) got to love Air Asia!

I had an early morning to catch my 9.45am flight. The airport isn't really that far away, only 4km away. So caught a tuktuk and had to go through the usual charade of being offered a ridiculous price, which is very quickly dropped to a sensible one.

By 2pm we were coming into land over my favourite country. Unfortunately the flight times to Vietnam didn't match up too well - so I have 24 hours in Kuala Lumpur. Oh dear, what a shame (!) Time for some nice Malay food, a spot of shopping and I can return to speaking Malay again!

No need to rush around sightseeing here, I don't think there's anything more I particularly want to see (given I've been here many times), so making the most of yet some shopping time and more relaxing time! (and some Nandos!)
