After waking up at a strange time from a poor nights sleep, we got ourselves together with relative speed and headed for Manhatten on the subway!! Coming out of the station we were surrounded by towering skyscrapers and lots of shadow, what a sight!! We grabbed some breakfast from a guy on the 'sidewalk', fruit for Charlotte, and a donut for Amir, he's getting into it - when in Rome!!! :-)
We headed straight for the Empire straight and found ourselves happening upon the Chrysler Building, which is beautiful (shame you can't go to the top!), whoever said skyscrapers are an eyesore has never been to New York City!
After stopping in at a New York Yankees store and checking out some possible buys we headed for the Empire State, which saw us waiting in some pretty long ques, but it was so definately worth it! It's like being on top of the world! We got ourselves an audio guide which was really cool, it's done by a guy who's Father was an immigrint for Sicilly, and so he's lived there all his life, and is now a taxi driver, which means, all in all, he knows New York really well! Anyway, it was really interesting, and a cool way of getting our bearings!!
After this we got ourselves a nice BIG deli sandwich each from across the street (mmmmm) and headed up 5th Avenue! Very nice! We also went into the famous toy store FAO Schwartz, which is wicked!! So much fun could be had in there but so much time aswell!! Kids and adults alike are in for a real treat just by visiting that place!!
We also went into some great souvenir and picked up some T-Shirts for our loved ones!! (It could be you!)
Headed back with our feet slightly swollen...
