Well, so having arrived in japan on the 15th february, planning to stay untill 8th March, we leave with our tails firmly between our legs on the 23rd february, after being shocked by the prices of everyday necessities! That is certainly not to say that we did not enjoy Tokyo, because afterall it is the mother of all cities, and being here has been a breath taking and incredible experience! The technology of the place is summed up by the mechanical 'cleaning' toliets, which are everywhere, and very fun!!! HAHA!
There are certain parts of Tokyo, like Shinjuku and Shibuya that are so vibrant and in your face, that you sometimes wonder if your on another planet, but then there are the old fashioned areas of Asakusa, which remind you of what Japan used to be like!
The hordes of overly and sometimes horribly fashionable Tokyo youngsters make you laugh on occasions, and wonder how much there outfits actually cost, (with those rings and colour co-ordinated socks) and how long they spent on their hair!
Anyway Tokyo really has been fantastic, and we are both so glad we stopped by, but San Francisco calls ever louder, and a suprize awaits Charlotte's two sisters, seen as were about to turn up two weeks early!!
We'll be back one day!
