Dutch friend had told me how she bought a bike really ok condition at a fair price, down near Porta Genova. She told me how she went there and there was a group of men huddled in a park with a range of bikes on sell. As I headed down to Porta Genova myself I had not thought about that in fact I would be going to buy a not exactly legal bike, but one that had mysteriously got a new owner.

I got down there to find a large street market and people bustling everywhere and every direction. As I got near to the park area, I did find a few men gathering round but selling DVDs...I was trying not to stand out and pretend I was looking somewhere else but occasionally caught someone's eye and then they tried sell me the DVds - ok intiative I thought.

Not feeling like I was in the right place or really doing the right thing, I walked down to the market itself. I saw some bikes for sell on a stall there bran new from about 200 EUR, one was super nice with a basket and a bell - what I always dreamed of, but I knew the price tag was too much as probably I would leave it here when I departed. I headed for a stall selling electrical bric-brac and bought myself a bike lock, the theory here was if I had the lock well I had to go buy a bike.

Leaving the street market, I saw fake designer handbags for sell and also alot of policemen watching. I could not find these bikes for sell my friend had told me about, so decided to head back to the metro stop. As I turned the corner I saw about 5 men some standing, some sitting with bicycles on show I thought it seemed like a man thing, mine's better than yours...but as I approached and caught one guy's eyehe shouted to me 50 euro...and something more in Italian - I knew I had come to the right place. I tried it for size, literally, cycling between the other guys who looked despondant I would not buy theirs, I then bartered down to 40 euros and cycled off into the sunset ;)
