Just wanted to pass the word along that I am now safe and sound in Sydney.  The family that I am staying with is amazing.  All kinds of Aussie treats are all over my bed welcoming to this great land.  The flight went well and I am ready for my first day of sight seeing.  I'll fill in the details later.  Bye for now.

On the plane...

After an eternity of flying, I awoke this morning to a dark sky outlined by the brightness of orange sunlight. From the cramped widow seat on this United flight, I see the sun is rising. What a blessing, the Lord always seems to let the sun rise. My prayer is that this trip will be my sun rising, bringing abundant light to a darkness which tries to cover my eyes and my heart. Lord I praise you that the darkness never wins. I praise you that I am full of joy not because of all the great things that happen in my life, but because of the God who continues to walk through it with me.

The glow of the sunshine is a preview of all that is to come. The dark sky now compliments the orange with shades of blue. I wish I could take a picture, a beautiful memory, the silly airplane window only reflects my image back to me. So I now take a mental picture, just between my Lord and me. Our life, our trip, our journey...my Lord and myself.
