After a long bus journey we arrived in the tiny remote town of 1770. It was so small and compact and one of those places where everyone knows everyone. They considered a traffic jam is there is more than 4 cars on the toad and you are always guaranteed a parking space. I fell in love with this place within minutes of arriving.

We arrived at our hostel which was so nice and everyone seemed laid back. We were staying in a cabin called Thailand. There was no locks to our room just trust! We shared with two guys from Germany so we all grabbed the free BBQ, wifi and played some pool.

I wished we had done some more research as to the places we were visiting along the east coast because when we arrived in 1770 we found out that you could do 3 hours of surfing for just $17 and a Scootaroo day trips riding motorbikes around the town. However we have so much to cram in there was always going to be things we would miss out on.

With our cast away trip the following day and not knowing a lot about it we decided to get some sleep and headed to bed.

The following morning we checked out of the hostel and headed to the shop to check in for our trip. We met a girl called reanna who was also on our trip. We got some food and alcohol supplies and waited around until it was time yo leave. We chatted to the lady in the shop who was a lovely compared to the dickhead of a guy who was ignorant and rude! He must have a hate for women!

Anyway it was time to go so we jumped in our pick up and was driven to the where we would catch the mini plane to our castaway adventure.

We met Bruce the pilot who was a funny guy. We set flight and the views were amazing and the flight was awesome. He did some tricks and left our stomachs in the air. On arrival
We met the team leaders, Cameron and David who seemed like nice enough boys. We met the rest of our group and decided to jump in the sea an have a swim. This place was incredible. There were 11 of us and we had the whole island to ourselves. We would get to wake up to the beach and the sun! It was amazing! We all had a game of rounders and then dis some sunbathing. Later on we took part in the lighthouse walk to watch the sun set.

The boys scared a few guilable people with the drop bear story!

The views along the walk were stunning and it was like living in paridise. Later on we all had dinner together then had a few drinks.

A few drinks led to more drinks which led to skinny dipping which led to naked photos on facebook (this proved difficult to get down but eventually all photos were removed!)

Lesson learnt!

The next day we all went snorkelling or attempted too! It was a day of disaster!

We walked about a hour to the other side where we were told we could follow the current down and snorkel. However this wasn't the case. We started walking to get the sea as the tide was out but soon the tide came in but not deep enough to swim and the ground was sharp and the coral was dangerous. I lost a flip flop so i was walking bare footed!

Then reef sharks decide to turn up which freaked everyone out but they weren't too close. We managed to get to deep enough water to be about to snorkel but by then the visibility was poor. The next thing you know the tide has come right in and we are in the middle of the sea miles away from land! It was one of those situations where if you were told this was going to happen to you, you would probably freak out but since you are already in it there isn't much for you to do apart from swim!!

Now i bloody hate the sea and all the weird and wonderful things which lurch in there but that day must have been a good day for me as i kept my cool and just kept swimming. The waves were big and kept knocking us back so it felt like we were going no where. However eventually we made it to shallow water and everyone started making there way back to the beach. However for me without any flip
Flops it wasn't that easy. It was too shallow to swim and with the coral and crap on the ground it was torture walking. Next thing you know Cameran and I get stranded by reef sharks swimming as close as 5 metres around us. Now i know reef sharks are meant to be harmless but sharks are sharks and they were coming close. Anyway we kept out cool and a hour later we finally made it to the beach with our feet cut to pieces!

By the time i made it back to camp my feet were so sore i could barely walk on them. I had no shoes until i got back to 1770 and had 18 splinters in one foot and 28 in the other plus cuts and grazes all over! It had been one of those days!

Our castaway trip was nearly over so we went on a lil kayak and went out to sea and chilled. We had met some good people, had a laugh and ha plenty of stories to tell! Its not everyday you get to stranded by sharks, get to sit around a fire on the beach singing songs and playing games an waking up on a beautiful beach with an amazing view!

The trip was a memorable one and I'm glad i got to experience it!

Before long we were back at 1770 and rushing to get out stuff and jump on the greyhound for our next adventure up the east coast...
