Some facts about Phi Phi: there are no cars on this island just bikes. Bikes with bells. Bells which are constantly rung. You are faced with two options when it come to bikes - move out the way or die! They are pretty ruthless and i swear their aim is to run you over!
Anyway we were expecting Phi Phi to be a relaxing 6 days of sun, sea and chilled times. However i can safety say this place was and is insane! Quiet during the say and then at night it turns into this mental drunken crazy island where everyone just gets hammered
Hanging around with 5 irish boys it is easy to say the irish bar became our second home! We would grab a bucket or whisky and coke for £2.80 or a strawberry daquerui for £5.00 and party the night away.
Slinkys which is a bar on the beach is the place to be so around midnight every night we would head down there and get the old moves out!
They hand out prescription drugs like there is no tomorrow over here so there were several people high off there face on them! Crazy stuff!
Charlie somehow managed to brake her bloody foot so one morning we spent a couple of hours in some medical clinic fixing her up. One cast, a pair of crutches and £300 later she cane our of the clinic a cripple! We actually stayed in that night... Both needing a rest after the insane night life of Koh Phi Phi!
One of the days we all hired kayaks and went to monkey beach! The views and the sea are amazing! Another day we took a boat trip for £5 and went to Maya bay where the beach was filmed. Again what a stunning place. It makes you realise how lucky you are to be doing this and seeing these things. We also went snorkelling which was pretty cool until i had yo try and get back on the boat... Impossible task especially since every time i did make it bloody Alan just pushed me back in... Thanks!
We met lots of people during our 6 days on the island, names i do not and will not probably ever know or remember. However i decided to start giving people nicknames as it was easier! We met a group of army lads who was also staying in our hotel and one of them was the cause of Charlie's broken foot. Nice lads and we had a laugh with them. We also met this crazy german guy who was frigging hilarious! The boys who worked at the Irish bar provided us with daily entertainment.
The weather in Phi Phi was on and off but still bloody hot! So hot that it looked like i gad a bucket of water chucked over me every evening!
One day the sun was shining so Charlie and I headed to the beach for spot of sunbathing. The sun was hot! Within a hour my face and legs were black! The sun didn't stay out for long and it soon poured down but with it still be hot outside we just stayed under the sun lounger umbrella and waited for the rain yo stop. During this time we sat and watches a random couple have sex in the sea! Each to their to own but there were bloody kids swimming around them in the sea!
A quick mention of the food in Phi Phi... Not great! We all went for a nice sit down meal one evening and steak was on the menu. Now i love a bit of steak but what we got was not steak but probably dog. It was that bad no one actually touched their plate. They also have weirs bread, sausages and pretty much most things were rotten. We dud however find one reaturant thanks to the lads which was ok
Their red bull in Thailand is insane. Its concentrated and when you get a bucket a bottle usually comes with it. One bottle of this stuff will start giving the shakes for a few hours!
Phi Phi is amazing island and best by far. However after 6 days it was time to make tracks and headed for Koh Samui... Only after a heavy last night and no sleep the irish boys missed the ferry! Not even sure how Charlie and I managed it but we did.
The 9 hour journey awaited us...
