Happy 2012 everyone! :)

Time for the next adventure, I'm somewhat behind... Although I had a bit of a warning from Diederik & Anahita about Niagara Falls, it still wasn't what I expected (the warning was that there was a casino and other touristy stuff). The Falls itself are amazing, and although the weather was freezing cold and the water blows right into your face (or was it rain? :) ), the sheer size of the falls is incredible. The stream is so powerful and apparently it is not one of the deepest drops but still very very deep.

What I didn't expect is that around the Falls there are so many buildings and there is no nature left; they have build all around it and just kept the Falls as the only natural part. It has been turned into a commercial circus which is a big shame. I do need to come back though as it is possible to go with a boat near the Falls and have them all around you (because of the horse shoe shape).

Afterwards we went to Niagara on the Lake, a cute village with little shops, but the weather still wasn't the best so we didn't stay for too long.
Anyway, enough talking, as usual the photos say more...!
