We were up bright and early (okay, maybe not so bright and early), but we were on the slopes by 10:00. We took the city bus to the base of Baldy, and I knew I was in trouble when we talked to a ski patrol guide who told us that the greens at Sun Valley are really like blues at most places. I was a bit nervous when I climbed aboard the lift to go to the Seattle Run area where the most greens (think blues) were located. We started off with the Broadway run, and it wasn't too bad, but yes, I do believe the greens here are really blues elsewhere. It took a while for me to get my legs to do what they were supposed to do. Skiing here is challenging, and even Ted agrees that the greens are really blues.
But to make up for the challenge, the surroundings were incredible. What wonderful views from on top of the mountain! We ate lunch at the Seattle Ridge Day Lodge, a beautiful building with lots of good food and wonderful views then we were back on the slopes. This time we headed over to the Warm Springs area where I skied down the College Run, a slope that was more to my ability level. The wonderful thing about this day was that the temperatures were very moderate, and the sun was indeed shining. It was 40 degrees after lunch. I didn't get cold all day, and that made the skiing even more enjoyable. The slopes were also very well groomed, and that also helped a lot.
We called it a day around 3:00; we were worn out from all the hard work. We are not used to these challenging slopes.
Did I fall today? Of course, I did! That's what I do when I ski.:(  But I didn't break anything, so that is good.

A quiet dinner at the condo rounded out our day. We like Sun Valley.
