We had a big birthday dinner for Ted complete with steaks, potatoes, salad, and chocolate cheesecake. Ted got lots of good presents, and his piece of cheesecake was on a special airplane cake. What more could a man ask for??
Another big day - a 67-mile bike ride, a great birthday meal. Life is good.
Today was a big day--Ted's birthday! As is our custom (thank you Laura!) we ride a very long ride on our birthdays, so we headed out early to ride the Paul Bunyan Trail. We rode from mile marker 8 to mile marker 40, which ran from Brainerd to past Pine River. We reached our half-way point, turned around and looked at some terrible storm clouds. Our plan was to eat lunch at a restaurant at Pequot Lakes. About three miles from the restaurant the sky let loose, and the rains came down. We were soaked by the time we arrived at the restaurant. We hoped the rains would stop after our lunch, but that was not the case. We climbed back in the saddle in the pouring rain and continued on for about 6 more miles. The rain did finally stop, and we were able to finish our ride, but Del said we looked like wet rats when we got back to their place!
