Slept in until 9:00 today, which was a real bonus. No breakfast provided at this motel so we just had a coffee before heading into town to the Baseball Museum and Hall of Fame. We wandered through the building checking out the displays and snapping photos like Japanese tourists. Anyone who loves baseball should make every effort to get here one day, the place is amazing.
After the Hall of Fame we walked up and down Main Street, every shop here is baseball themed and you can pick up anything your heart desires. Shane went berserk in one of the shops that sold every cap imaginable even all of the Minor League teams. We had a light lunch at the Lake Front Restaurant overlooking the picturesque Lake Ostega at about 2:00 before returning to our room to get ready for golf.
The course we selected was Meadow Links about 7 miles away, we wanted to play the Leatherstocking course beside the lake but couldn't justify the cost. The drive to Meadow Links was really pleasant with all of the beautiful houses perched beside the lake. The course was originally a 9 hole par 3 course but had recently been extended into an 18 hole course with a few longer holes to make it more challenging.
We got back to our room at about 7:00 for a couple of refreshing beers before heading to the supermarket to pick up something for dinner, unfortunately the deli was closed so we had to settle for McDonalds next door which was very disappointing, we try to avoid this place like the plague.
There were a few big thunderstorms come through during the day but none of them really affected our activities. We're looking forward to heading to Boston tomorrow and we'll hopefully catch up with Mikey B.
