Yesterday was quite a strange day.....a good one but it did end in a bit of tragedy, lets not talk about that quite yet though hey?! Sandboarding was much better than the first time, we went out to the same place at 2pm and the sand was nice and quick, we managed to get the whole thing for free too which made the fact that there weren't enough boards bearable. There was a bunch of American snowboarders who came along to show us up and make us feel small and insignificant, they picked it up pretty qickly and this one guy was doing some good jumps off random sand mounds. It took me a while to warm up but in the end we were doing some nice airs of this special launch ramp for sand and we got a video of the whole thing as well! I only landed one good air but it was worth all the sand in the ears. Definatley a good session. I would highly recommend sandboarding to anyone, it's not to hard to pick up either, there were some people who had never even stepped on a board before getting some good speed down the dunes.
We ended up back at the Aloe Africa bus afterwards to watch over the video footage and got to say the final word at the end (I guess that means we're famous now hey!) which went something like "Sandboarding is kewl!!!!" "Big graps dude!!!" then we got cut short just as I was about to shown the camera how much sand I had in my ears which was probably just as well. Saw a nice sunset in the evening and then went out for our final meal in Jeffreys bay as we managed to book out on the 7:40 bus down to the bungee... so your probably wondering why it's 10:36 and I'm sending this from jeffreys bay right? Well... this is where the otherwise pleasent story takes a turn for the worse (insert gloomy, dark noise here) We had a good meal at the Red Flame and a good couple of bottles of wine, everything was going well... we played a game of pool next door which I lost and had to play the Entertainer on the pub piano, which I forgot (and no one could hear it anyway) and started walking back to the hostel. On the way back we could here this noise that sounded like a good party, and not to far away either, so we decided to have a liitle look and see what was going on. We eventually found this little pub place about 5-10 minutes away from the hostel and had a drink there... the locals were pretty kewl but we had to be up early so we left and made our way back. This one rather drunk guy was rabbiting on about a disco and how we should give him 7 rand for taking us towards our hostel (even though we knew the way) but we said no. Then only a minute away from the hostel these 2 other guys join the other dood and they sound as if they're having a heated discussion then BLAMMM!! A hand flyes into my pocket and my wallet goes running down the street... I automatically started chasing the guy but he dissapeared. Fucking sly bastard!!! Pretty quick too! Lukes got nicked as well which is the funny thing (if you've got a wierd sense of humour) and we spent uintil 3am trying to cancel cards etc to no avail. We didn't loose any money, maybe 40 rand which is not much, it's just the hassle, anger and aggrevation of the whole thing.
So this morning we woke up at 7:41 and our bus left Humansdorp at 7:40 (funny again that), it takes 20 minutes to get to humansdorp so we didn't really stand much chance of catching the bus... instead we cancelled the card successfully, booked on the 8:30pm bus and now we're about to go to the beach and sleep in the sun!
So lots of fun and games as you can see. I think someone told me that you always have at least one inccident like this when you go traveling, like stolen things, lost travelers cheques, missing passport etc etc...... i just hope this is the only one!!! It could have been a lot worse so I'm not too gutted (a bit angry yes) it's only a bit of plastic after all and hopefully we should be getting new ones in a week or 2.
Bungee is sounding better every second!!!!
Later
Chalk and Luke in South Africa with no wallets. (At least we get to buy new ones eh! Mine was a bit shagged)
