As our cruise nears its end, we enthusiastically await the next chapter of our adventure, wondering what the mainland has to offer and what it could possibly do in attempt to top what we have seen in the Galapagos.
The last few days of the cruise were spent visiting some of the smaller islands, including Puerto Egas on Santiago, Rabida, Chinese Hat (yes, thats the actual name of the island!) and Bartolome. You would think that seeing sea lions, iguanas, sea turtles and birds everyday would get old, but trust me it doesn't. Each day brings another interaction with nature that you could not experience in any other part of the world. On our way to visit the Chinese Hat (named based on the volcanic shape of the island) our dingy was suddenly in a pod of atleast 80 dolphins; they were everywhere, in every direction jumping completely out of the air within two feet of out dingy, and it was an incredible experience!
