422 Miles Today: We started out down the Alaska Highway today. Our goal was to get to Toad River and we succeeded. It took us 8 and half hours.
I think Rob is getting a little burned out writing this blog, so I'm going to take a shot at it. Our day starts off at 5 or 6 in the morning, break camp, ride hard all day, make camp again, get some supper and a few beers.then rob starts writing and downloading pictures untill around 11 or 12. This trip is beginning to take its toll on us both mentally and physically.the short day yesterday did us all a lot of good.I think we were getting a little loopy. I know I was.
The first day on the Alaska Highway started out pretty normal. The road was good and were burning some miles. We were keeping the speed down and looking for wild animals. It didn't take long.  we saw some wolves near the edge of some woods. We could tell there was a few of them but we could see one really well. Then we saw three deer right near the road. A few more miles down the road we had to come to a complete stop while a young moose walked around in front of us. Naturally before we could get our cameras out , It was gone. Then we saw some horses. There was some question weather they were wild or not.
The farther we rode North, the worse the roads got. A lot of construction. A lot of gravel. And a lot of rough road. And then it started raining! We just rode through it and soon we were back in the sun.
We finally arrived at our destination, Toad River. There camp ground is great. We set up our tents next to a small lake-bog made by beavers. They built a huge lodge. There is also several moose grazing in the shallow water.
We are getting along famously, the Harleys are running perfect, and our spirits are high. The short day yesterday really helped recharge our batterys.Tomorrow our push North to Alaska continues.

Wow, looks like you're having a phenominal trip. You're right, the pictures couldn't possibly do justice, but they are great. (I mostly liked the beaver pictures). Really wish I was there! Be safe.
