Today is Saturday and BB and MB are westward bound. First stop in Loule´then off to the south western tip of  Portugal, known as Sagres.  A favourite destination of MBs she tries to get there every time she is here, for those who have known her for a little while, she loves to climb up on the canon and have her picture taken.  This year will be special one with BB up on there too.

While in Loule´ we shopped, MB got a new hat - a girl can never have too many, besides, it is how she keeps from being toasted by the sun.  Her cousin Pedro always likes to comment how I pale I can manage to keep.  LOL!  Shopping for BB as well, great shoes, and you know how MB likes men's shoes. She found a couple of great pairs for BB - surprisingly still made in Portugal and they look MARVELOUS.

Once back in the car, the drive was an easy one, the highways are sooo easy, with no cars around, without knowing it one can be driving at 140kms and it feels like the normal course.

We stopped in Praia d' Alvor, to eat and EAT we did or should I say MB did. Bacalhau com natas (Cod and cream)....everything tastes better with cream, side salad and cold white wine.  Nice. BB watched as Uruguay won and he convinced MB to buy him a VUVUZUELA (SP?)

We tried to find the 'actual' beach but after driving around 'in circles' as BB calls it and ending up in a deadend where some woman yelled at MB... we decided to just head out to Sagres.

By the time we got there MBs sense of humor was frayed and BB too.  She was not impressed to find that now you have to pay to get into the Fortaleza and least impressive how they managed to put in a cafe-shop right in the heart of the fortress. D.Infante Henrique "The Navigator" would not be impressed.  For more info on him see, http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infante_D._Henrique

We took our photos as planned, even managed another self-portrait of us two.   Once done we headed to the ªtonelª for some beach time. BB watched some wannabe surfer dudes and played in the sand while MB watched the sunset. It is a beautiful serene beach, the water is freezing but a beautiful spot to just chill. There she witnessed a man meditating and his lil son sitting quietly beside him, one of those moments every parent dreams of:)

We eventually headed back and drove through Portimao to see one of the most photographed beautiful beaches in the Algarve....Praia da Rocha but by then BB was not impressed and just wanted to eat. So did some groceries, in one of the dozens of HUGE GROCERY stores.... it is incredible how everything has changed here.  It is becoming so north american which is very sad.

We were nearly run down in the parking lot, people have no will to live or for the lives of others when they are behind the wheel... that is just an observation from MB.

We arrived home late, took a bath and continued reading  The HardyBoys.  All in a wonderful day.
