I stayed there for 6 days and I hired a car (there are only 2 highways on this island) A local told me "it doesn't matter if you get lost , you are still in Kauai"
I did some hiking in the Waimea Canyon (known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific), as you reach the top of the canyon, you can look down at the Na Pali coast, a 15-mile stretch of rugged costline on the northwest shore of Kauai with beautiful white sand beaches.
I visited a Coffee plantation in Kauai, i did a tour of the plantation and had a tasting.
What else? beach, beach, beach ...
The only negative experience on this island was the hippie hostel i stayed in , although it was recommended by many travel guides. It was a poorly run hostel, poor cleanliness and hygiene. Basically a crappy place. As there were only 2 bad hostels on this island, i checked into a hotel on my last night to stay away from the bugs...ERkkk.
