G'day guys

I don't even know where to start. It has been so crazy here the past few weeks with traveling and Brock being here that I have not had a chance to do any blogs!
So I will start from New York City.

I left Bangor at lunch time and arrived in New York about 4pm.
The weather was really rainy and windy. The turbulence on the plane was really scary and bad!
I was also by my self as well, so it was pretty scary!
I arrived at the hostel and checked into my 6 bedroom dorm. There was another couple there, getting ready to go out. And one other asian guy who has been living in France for the past six years, so he was pretty interesting.
I walked to the shops while I waited for my brother to arrive.
I met a few characters in the hostel and just got chatting to everyone. The hostel was really new and clean, however our shower did not work, so we always needed to use the shower in the common area.

Brock arrived at about 8pm and he seamed pretty tiered after all his travels through Florida.
It was nice to see him and we quickly got ready before we headed out for a beer and lots of catching up.
We went to the pub down the road and then went to another gem (which later on becomes our local bar) Solider McGee's. We ended up drinking there for a bit and then headed down the road for some pizza.
The pizza is the size of my head- that's one slice. We got a slice each, garlic bread and a drink each for under $10.00. The food in America is so good and so cheap.
So we then headed back to Solider McGee's and had more drinks.
We got talking to the owner, the bar attenders and our favorite- the security guard, who we called king. He did the best dances and was really fun to talk to. His wife would just sit at the tabel next to him and chat. She would also eat dinner there everynight.

Anyway so Brock had pre-bought tickets to Dirty South.
We caught a cab to the club, the line was like around the block. But those people did not have tickets. So that was really lucky, I did not want to wait in the cold!
So we got in and the club is packed! Shoulder to shoulder. The beats were pumping and the club was four levels high. It was an awesome club!!!
So we danced till the early hours of the morning and drunk vodka and danced more.
I went to the bathroom and it was a 20 minute wait. Can you believe that?
So I lost Breck for about an hour or so and trying to find someone in that club is just ridiculous.
Anyway found Breck dancing with a bunch of Asian people and then we decided it was time to go.
We got back to the hostel and Breck ducked out to get a turkey roll form the 24hour deli. Ha ha. We ended up home at about 4.30am. I don't think the other room mates were to impressed, as I think we were pretty loud.

The next morning I was not feeling the best, neither was Breck, but we charged on and had a nice breakfast. We caught the subway into Times Square and looked around. That place is packed!
So many people every where. We had tickets for empire state building so the plan was to walk around until we found it. We were heading to the wrong building! But on our way going in the wrong direction we stumbled into Grand Central Station. It's only a train station, but my god it is the most beautiful station ever. There is art work on the walls, lovely large pillars and beautiful big windows. We just looked around and sat and watched all of New York go by. Next it was back onto the street to see if we could find the Empire State building.... eventually we found it, doesn't seem that hard but the buildings look really similar.

We had express tickets so we didn't have to wait in any ques and the ques were huge!!
We went up to the 86th Floor- the views were spectacular! Like nothing I have ever seen before. It was really cold up on that floor though! Next it was up to the 102nd floor. Even more spectacular then the last. So breathtaking.

We got back to the hostel after walking around all day, freshened up and headed back into Times Square. We were both pretty hung over and tiered so we said we will just have an easy night.
We went to a New York comedy show for $10.00, but the catch was we had to buy 2 drinks each.
the drinks were over $10.00 each. So that was pretty annoying. But the comedy was fantastic, we saw 3 people all different styles. I laughed so hard I cried. Some of the jokes were pretty raw!

Next we went to the subway and watched a few buskers. We headed back to our local Solider McGee's and had more drinks. We bumped into a group of people who recognized our accent.
They invited us out and said we were going with them. They would not take no for an answer. So we were whisked away with some random New York couple and friends to a bar in Soho.
The bar in Soho was wicked fun. Heaps of cool art work and really underground bar.
We stayed there till the early hours. They shut the bar down, but let a small group of us stay.
We did copious amounts of tequila shots. It was crazy!!! Had so much fun. Night ended when the sun came up.

Next morning we woke up to new tenants in our room. A bunch of German people.
They were really friendly and funny! I think I was still drunk when I woke up so the conversation was flowing. Ha ha. Then Breck dragged me along to Central Park. I felt so hung!!
We walked around for hours until we found the bike hire. Next it was riding all around central park.
It was so beautiful and the trees were lovely. So many vibrant yellows, reds and browns and oranges!!! Such a wonderful sight. After that I was sooooooooooooooo tiered so I went back to the hostel, where I left Breck to explore more.

That night as you can imagine we took it easy. We went and got an Indian and then went back into Times square where we just sat (once again) and watched everyone and hung out near buskers. There were so many people every where. We saw some guy busting it to Brittany Spears and the whole crowd around him was singing. It was probably one of the funniest things I have seen in my life. Only in New York.....

Well that sums up New York City. We did not sleep much at all. There was too much to see and too much to do.
I would love to live there and spend an extended period of time there. Its just so amazing and pretty. Everyone is such a character and so nice to the Australians.
Everyone has dogs and there is just such a buzz.
It's so full of atmosphere and life.

I love New York City!!
