We park the car in the garden, close the gate and let the dogs explore the turf. Manly strolls around the pool... SPLASH: dog overboard! Poor Manly swims to the edge but cannot pull himself out (unfortunately swimming pools are not designed for dog anatomy). We coach him to the underwater stairs in the corner and he manages to get out. Manly loves to swim but I don't think he will get into this pool again - willingly or not.
Tonight after eating delicious quesadillas from a local taco stand we watched the sunset from our balcony, listening to the town's band practice in a distance. What a perfect retreat! Only one downside: our attempt to escape mosquitos was wishful thinking : 'tis the season...
