Tuesday 1 August
Up with hangover so had breakfast and long run, up to the castle, round Blackpool tower, back to TV tower and back to hostel uphill, must have been 14k at least. Then onto find the church where the 7 British trained paratroopers hid after killing Heidrich. Mostly exactly how it was, bullet holes in crypt and failed escape tunnel to the sewers. Saw an after the battle magazine not for sale but the beautiful receptionist photo copied the whole thing for me so I gave her a large tip. Onto a micro-brewery, one room and accordion player with a totally pissed bloke in the middle nobody sitting by him. Managed to find a table facing him and waited for beer. The system is the waiter pours loads of beers and brings them round on a tray offering everyone one. The same happens with the Beckerovka. Had a sausage, 2 beers and 1 Beckerovka and was feeling like the pissed up bloke looked so got out quick. Went to another brewery, the smallest in Prague, spoke to the brewer - very interesting. Onto a typical Czech bar, all Czech, no seats, not to friendly, so stood about and heard some English and spoke to these Americans for a few hours. They left and some Brits arrived and we found a seat. Spent a few hours with them, then the bar shut at 1030 so they advised us to go. Another couple of beers at another venue, then to another where we had absinthe and met a few Danish doctors. The Brits went home and me and only 2 of the doctors went to find another drink. Found one but got thrown out by over attentive bouncer, so onto find somewhere else but couldn't. By now Im 5k away from my hostel after taking ages to find out where I was. Made it back to hostel where bar was still open so had a quick drink and sent some pissed emails at 0600.

Wednesday 2 August
Woke up at 1. Bed wet feeling terrible. Found a big bruise on my arm. Sat around drinking water talking to American girls trying to recover. Eventually got reception to get me a taxi to where Heinrich was assassinated. So happened the driver was really into the nazis, had a kind of swastika tattoo on his arm - scary. Mentioned Hitler had a good idea trying to make 1 Europe, just went about it in the wrong way - scary. Site was a bit anoraky so took a few pictures and got him to drop me at bus station to go to Lidice. He thought I was a star thinking I was Nazi also. He overcharged me but didn't want to argue. Missed stop on bus. Found an English speaker absolutely smashed who showed me some accommodation in his container (he was at work on the roads) then tried walking back but got lost so arrived at the museum at 1740, it closed at 6 so didn't get to do everything but what I saw was good enough to go back to. The museum staff had found me a hotel in Kladno so caught the bus to that, was well expensive at 30 quid but nothing else around. Had expensive and shit food so went to expensive bed not too happy, but also a little ill.
