Where I stayed
Hi everyone,
This morning we awoke to very nice weather here in Kenmare. Our room overlooks the bay and under our window were some cattle grazing. It was incredible and our hosts commented that we were to enjoy while we could, being Ireland the weather changes in a second. .We had breakfast in the dining room overlooking the bay. Our hosts commented that we drink coffee like they drink Guinness!
After breakfast we drove east into Bantry Cork and toured the Bantry House and grounds, a Georgian house built in 1750 for the earl of Bantry. It was beautiful and behind the house are 100 steps that after you climb you get breathtaking views of the bay. After lunch in the town of Bantry we headed back to Kenmare. On the way we took a detour to a forested area that our hosts had told us of and walked through an area with waterfalls and a lake with a chapel in front of it.
We had dinner in Kenmare followed by music played by an irish folk singer. As always Mary was the one ready to stay out the latest. She really enjoys the music. I wish there had been dancing for her.
Tomorrow we explore the Ring of Kerry.
