Where I stayed
Woke up this morning with a slight hang over, a blister under my foot and a very, very red skin! For the first time I know I burnt my scalp! My scalp is really eina when I comb my hair and my forehead is bright red and sore. My feet are also quite swollen for the humidity. I really sound like a granny!!
So I'm on a mission to get a proper sun hat and comfortable shoes. Charles is on a mission to get to breakfast and keeps walking way ahead from Hannah and me calling "Pali Pali!!" Korean for Hurry, Hurry. I'm convinced that's how I developed this blister under my foot, forget the cheap Reeboks I bought at the factory shop in Joburg.
We finally got to Cafe del Sol, which I think was Charles's favourite, and sat down for breakfast of bacon and eggs. As we sat down a hawker with sun hats came past so I bought the biggest hat I could find. The only thing was my forehead was so burnt and the hat scratched me!
This restaurant is at the beginning of D'Mall which is a patch of shops and restaurants and I saw the Croc shop yesterday when we had our burgers so I slipped off while Charles and Hannah were having coffee and bought myself some Crocs, hoping this will help my sore foot.
We then walked around a bit, bought aftersun lotion, Nivea and more sunscreen but I needed to get out of the sun and so we went back to our rooms and just slept and read until it cooled down a bit and we could go for a swim without burning even more.
A quick swim and then he started at us again "Pali Pali it's nearly happy hour". We were a bit late for happy hour but in time for me to have another 2 margaritas and then back to Cafe del Sol for dinner, I decided to be brave and order a glass of wine and was really pleasantly surprised, I expected plonk. I think I just assume that the house wine in a non-wine producing country will be nasty and have been avoiding wine all week. I am really sorry that I didn't try it earlier because I really do prefer wine over beer. Plus I did not feel drunk at all after this. Hannah has a rhyme about mixing drinks with beer, I can't remember it but it made sense! I ordered prawns and was a bit disappointed because it was quite dry (maybe a bit over cooked). They absolutely absolved themselves with serving the most delicious chocolate desert!
