This will go down as one of the greatest travel days in my life. We woke to an unobstructed view across the loch through the bedroom window. We made our way to Oban but first stopped at Carnasserie Castle. This 16th century castle was home to the bishop of the isles. Andrea and I appreciated the fact that the curators did not try to recreate the way the castle might have looked in the 16th century. Both spiral staircases (scarecases, really!) were intact and led the way to the top for great views.
