Where I stayed
Jane's Parents' House
After some confusion on how to work the shower, from Jane's apartment, we walked to The Boat House in Central Park to have brunch. We, actually I, tried several cocktails. After a couple of misfires, I just went an ordered a mimosa. Food was good, ambiance was great, and the weather was cool. After our yummy brunch, Jane left to run a few personal errands, and we proceeded to The Guggenheim Museum. None of us have been in the Gug before. It was definitely a great architectural building! There were a few paintings exhibited, but mostly of other architectural pieces.
We were off to the Met! Shared a hotdog at the steps…and that’s as far as we got. LOL. Magee admitted that her achy legs could not take another step L So the Met will have to be seen another day.
We took a cab back to Jane’s apartment and as a treat for ourselves, we all got spa pedicures! It was WAAAAY more expensive than we’d like, but we were desperate! Colin picked us up after, stopped by flower shop and a liquor store, and then went to Jane’s parents’ house at Yonkers. They prepared a BBQ dinner for us as well as superb secret mixed drinks. Magee got happy peppy drunk, ha ha ha. It was a great night, despite the mosquitoes. Even the veggie hotdogs didn’t disappoint us carnivores. Aww, the evening was ending, and tomorrow we leave for home.
We left the Yonkers house at 5AM, Jane’s dad drove us to the airport and then dropped Diana off at the Path train station on 33rd.
It was a magnificent trip, NYC. Thank you all who made it possible.
