Off to the other side of the island to see the petroglyphs at El Porvenir - definitely felt more than 600m up the driveway!
Headed off to check out a couple of places for lunch - first the organic finca to get some bread/other lunch ingredients but already sold out. Glad I didn't stay as very unfriendly hippy snobs - seem to look down their noses at anyone without dreads, tats, piercings, holey clothes & dirt!
Went to a supposedly lakeside Gringo run place hoping to get some lunch - no menu as only chicken, rice & chips available and NO COLD BEER! Like many places on the island, fridges are switched off overnight & not cranked up until later the next day - no chance of getting a cold beer before 8pm & most are shut by 9pm latest!
You think staying in the jungle you'd sleep easily - picked the quietest room with curtains but wasn't quiet as branches kept blowing onto & over the tin roof all night.
