On Monday afternoon, Luke Boguslaw, Nate Schneck and I joined Herman and Olivier Hoornweg on a trip north to their prior home town of Gorinchem. Nearby was a castle (Loevestein), which we traveled to on a ferry boat.
(Olivier is Herman's son ... Luke and I are staying with Olivier, Nate is staying with Herman and the rest of the Hoornweg family just around the corner.)
After the castle, we stopped by to see two windmills that sat very close to the house where they used to live. And then we visited a Dutch grocery store to pick up some items for tomorrow. This store was a lot like what you'd find at home at Henning's or Landis' ... much bigger than the one in Poortvliet. (But Gorinchem was a much more built-up community.)
