We received quite a surprise this morning as they increased the flow into the river up to 8,400 cfs over night.  In prior years at this time of the year the flow was about 800 cfs and when we arrived it was at 4,600 cfs.  One can see on the photos how the level increased over night, about 3 to 4 feet.  It is also quite a sight to see the water shooting out from the dam.

It will be a few days before it will be safe to float the river again due to much debris being washed down the river.  We drove over to Sheep Creek (taking Flat Stanley with us), near Manlia, to try fishing there but too many people got there before us so we passed and went on to Manila for lunch.  We then went back to the cabin and relaxed for the rest of the afternoon.

We returned to Spring Creek Ranch for another delicious dinner of ribs cooked in a dutch oven.  We had our guides, James and Paul, join us for dinner.  No fishing but still a fun day.

Flat Stanley sure getting round now! Maybe he likes the traveling better than the fishing?
