Where I stayed
Henry's Fork Ranch
This morning brought us more of that white stuff. It also was a bit on the cold side. We decided to relax in this beautiful and comfortable log cabin.
Later in the morning we did go into St. Anthony and refreshed our clothes. We also stopped at the St. Anthony Public Library and gave them a set of Will James books. That is the last set that we had with us. Eastern Idaho is real ranch country and they were excited to get these books on cowboys, horses and the rodeo.
The sandhill cranes are probably wishing that they had stayed south a little while longer.
Rodeos are big events in this area and rodeo competition starts in the high schools. The high schools compete every Friday night and Saturday afternoon for about three months in the spring. Tonight the rodeo was in Rexberg and was held indoors due to the weather. The city of Rexberg has a large indoor arena used just for rodeos. Bill and Teresa (our landlord here at the ranch) have a son, Tanner, who is a senior and competes in team roping. He has a rodeo scholarship for next year at a college in Arizona. We went to dinner with Bill and Teresa and then on to the rodeo. Tanner and his partner won the team roping event. It was a fun night! Returned back to the cabin about 11 and called it another great day.

Real Cool!!
Rodeo sounds great. Well done Tanner.
Charlie, great job on getting the Will James books out..and enjoyed the description of the High School Rodeos, it reminds me of the Flint Hills High Schools here in Kansas, all the Ranching towns have High School Rodeos and they are keeping the traditons alive...
