We started the day in Sheridan and saw a moose in town, but it was too far away to get a photo. We missed seeing both the cow moose and her calf last night out in the street in front of our motel at about 8:30.

We got an early start to the Ruby River and arrived there about 9 AM.  The Ruby is a smaller river and so we walked and waded it.  The access at the dam is closed for repairs to the dam so we did an extra amount of walking, but the scenery was nice and we enjoyed it.  The Big Sky was there in the morning but things changed about noon and we had white stuff coming down mixed with rain. The fishing was great and we even caught a few, a mixture of browns and rainbows, but predominately browns. We also saw a mink on the bank.

We got off the river about 5 PM and it was snowing again.  We drove to Ennis where we are staying the night and had dinner with our guide, Tom Cornell, before parting ways.  Tom has been with us for the past four days and had organized everything for us and did an outstanding job.  He works out of the Blue RIbbon Fly Shop in West Yellowstone.

We are now ready for a couple of days off from fishing before we tackle the Henry's Fork in Idaho on Thursday.
