We are using our GoMiami card. If you use it right, you can participate in activities at a reduced rate. We went to the Miami Seaquarium and saw several shows that included dophins, an orca whale, seal lions, and a pirate tightrope. We were in the bright, hot sun for the pirate tightrope show, and it was miserable. There was no breeze. It was stifling.
Nearby is Jungle Island, and we went there after lunch. We were impressed with the show on tigers and other wild animals, titled Tale of the Tiger. The ranger had assistance by his son. I thought this boy looked like he was having fun.
Following this, we went on the Duck Tour of Miami. We always thought they looked crazy and yelling, "Quack, quack, quack." Well, we did it too. The tour was 1 1/2 hours in length, and we saw Ocean Drive and the Art Deco district, the mansion of fashion designer Gianni Versace (who was killed by a serial killer in front of his home) and then took to the water to see the mansions on Star, Hibiscus and Palm Islands. These islands are artifical islands in Biscayne Bay, and the homes on these islands are multimillion dollar dwellings. Some people who lived on these islands or are currently living on these islands are Al Capone, Don Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Lenny Kravitz, Will Smith, Gloria Estefan, Rose O'Donnell, Madonna, P. Diddy, and Sylvester Stallone. Some scenes from the movie The Specialist was filmed at the house owned by Rosie O'Donnell. Another island, Fisher Island, is the most expensive property per capita, and Oprah Winfrey, Jeb Bush (past governor of Florida and past Presidents' son and brother), Sharon Stone, and Anderson Cooper (newscaster) have homes on Fisher Island.
