We are leaving to stay in Jackson, Wyoming for a few days.  We are going to travel through Yellowstone National Park to get to Jackson.

Our first stop is to West Yellowstone to check out more bargains.  We made quite a few purchases.  This place has some good deals.

Again, we stopped at an area with thermal features.  Like I said earlier, I think my sisters are getting tired of seeing these kinds of things.  However, each area looks different than the others.  This is Black Sand Basin, named for its sandy black carpet of ground obsidian.  It has splendid, colorful hot springs.

Again, we ate our picnic lunch on the porch of Old Faithful Lodge, and again it is cold, 39 degrees and raining

We walked to see the geysers behind Old Faithful today.  Peggy and I met George whose passion is monitoring the eruptions of Beehive Geyser.  He has been watching this geyser for two to three weeks each year for 20 years.  We saw Old Faithful erupt again.

Our next stop is Kepler Cascades, named for a young boy named Kepler Hoyt who accompanied his father on a practical route between the park and Wyoming Territory.

We saw Lewis Falls.  My sisters are so crowded in the car that they made Joan, who was sitting in the middle, to remain in the car and not get to see the falls.

We exited Yellowstone National Park and are now in the area for the Grand Tetons with Lake Jackson at the foot of the mountains.

We stayed at Cowboy Village.  The rooms are very small.  The pictures on the internet make the rooms look larger.  There is a group of Model T car aficionados staying here.  Gary really liked this.  He went around looking at all the old cars and sometimes talking to the owners of the cars.

Some of us went to the rodeo.  The bleachers are metal, it is cold, and so are our buttocks.  The rodeo brought back pleasant memories.  My sisters and I remembered that we went to a rodeo when we were very young with our parents.  That was the last time I had been to a rodeo.  It is held every Friday night, at least during the summer.
