We left early and parked at the McDonald Lodge parking lot. Linda and I have reservations to go on the 11 AM boat ride. We walked around the lodge area until it was time to go on the DeSmet, an 83 year old wooden boat. The boat ride was spectacular and lasted one hour. Lake McDonald is the second largest lake in Glacier.
After the boat road, Linda and I hiked to Fish Lake which was 6 miles round trip. A large deer jumped on the path about 6 feet in front of us while we hiked. We saw the deer again on our return hike. This time the deer took its time leaving. Fish Lake is a small, but very pretty, lake. The path ended quite high above the lake and we scrambled down a very steep incline to get level with the lake. There were many bugs swarming over the lake, so we did not stay long.
We ate dinner at China Wall in Whitefish. I liked the dish I ordered - schzewan shrimp. Linda did not like her sweet and sour shrimp.
