This is another place you need to arrive early to get a parking spot.  As it was, we were in the last parking lot.  It is also Canada Day, a national holiday celebrating "Canada's birthday."  Entrance into the national parks is free today.  There are lots of people.

It is cold.  My sisters and I are wearing coats.  I write this because later we witnessed people jumping into Lake Louise.  Brrrr!!!!  We also witnessed people in short sleeves and shorts and businessmen in suits (one was wearing a tie) and business shoes on the trail.

We had our choice to do the Lake Agnes Trail or the Plain of Six Glaciers Trail.  We selected to hike to Lake Agnes.  This turned out to be a good choice as we met a woman on the trail who had hiked the other trail and stated there were patches of snow on the Plain of Six Glaciers Trail.  The Lake Agnes Trail has a 385 meter or 1263 feet elevation gain, and it is 6.8 kilometers or 4.2 miles round trip.  We took our time, admiring views along the trail, eating our lunch at Lake Mirror, and then drinking hot chocolate at the Lake Agnes Tea House.  The hot chocolate cost $3.75 each and was really hot water with a touch of chocolate.  Of course, you are paying for location, location, location.  And the area is beautiful.  We continued our hike along Lake Agnes to the snow.  This area is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen.
