We drove through Kootenay National Park to arrive at the town of Banff. We are looking forward to this. I have our day planned for us. We parked by the Visitors' Center, got some additional information, and then proceeded on with our day. The town is small enough that you can walk to many of the sights. We walked to the Cascade of Time Gardens. We love flowers, and this is a really peaceful place with lots of benches to admire the views. We next walked along Bow River (this is when I took the photo that is on the introduction page of this blog) to Bow Falls. We can see Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel across the river.
We can only park our car for 3 hours at the Visitors' Center, so our next move is to retrieve the car and try for the Tunnel Mountain Summit Trail. We had some misdirections and ate our lunch on another steep trail. We then drove to still another area and walked the trail to the Hoodoos.
Again, we got in our car, but this time for the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. We bought a few items in their shops.
Our final destination is to Bumpers Beef House which was recommended by one of the persons we met today. There is a senior special (ages for seniors start at 55 years), and luckily or unfortunately (whichever way you look at it) we are considered seniors. Each one of us got the senior special (prime rib, baked potato, carrots, salad bar, and ice cream) for $18.95. It is a long drive back to the condo.
