On the way home, we saw a sign for Saint-Placide-de-Charlevoix covered bridge. Now we are not ones to not see a covered bridge. It was built in 1926. We traveled 8 km and down dirt roads, small towns with low speed limits.
My sisters and I enjoy hiking. On this day, we took off for Parc national des Grands-Jardins, one of the national parks of Quebec Province. Of course, it started raining as soon as we got there. We did not let that stop us. We hiked La Chouenne Trail, a moderate hike of 4.4 kilometers. It is an uphill hike the entire way. At the 730 meter high summit, the scenery is beautiful. When I look out, there are no houses, few roads, mountains in the distance, no electric poles to mar the scenery, and quiet. We returned down and then started a hike on Le Mont-Du-Lac-Des-Cygnes which is considered a strenous hike. We did not complete the entire trail.
