Hi from Mississippi!
Today we finished our last full work day. We made it! Friday will be a “free day” for the kids to either go to the beach or to New Orleans, Louisiana. But the neat thing is there is a large group of students and chaperones who are ready and willing to go back to their work sites and work a half day!! What an incredible group of students and leaders! God has placed a passion in them to serve our Lord and this area. He is amazing and it has been such a blessing to see Him overflow in the lives of the students!
On the last full day, work sites were able to see how far they have come since Monday. Our team can truly say that we have been able to be used by God and have been the hands and feet of Jesus! We received two cancer quilts from CBC’s quilt ministry to give to a family that we’ve been working with all week. The whole team prayed over the quilts, tied knots, and will deliver the quilts to the family. Thank you for the contribution! The opportunity to pray over these people and quilts was humbling for all who were involved. After this incredible week, we hope and pray that the only thing left behind is that fact that Jesus built these houses, that Jesus ministered to the people, that Jesus changed the city of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.
The kids ended the day with the annual “game night;” competing in various games against the adults. After hardcore competition, the chaperones found themselves in 2nd place. Way to go kids! We came back for a wonderful worship experience led by the youth praise band and speaker, David Anna. Mr. Anna spoke from various scriptures but challenged the students to KNOW Jesus and have a personal relationship with Him.
God has been at work within the team and within the community. What a blessing to be here in Bay St. Louis. Thank you for your continuous prayers and support. We are humbled by a church who loves the Lord, and has a passion for missions. Praise be to God!
We will be back Saturday evening. Pray for safe travel and continuing ministry opportunities!
