While organizing this trip, we've planned to have eight work sites. In the last two days, some job sites haven't worked out, but God showed us where we need to be and not necessarily where we wanted to be or expected to be. Trip leader, Steve McCarty reminded us that this is always a learning experience to realize that we can't outplan God because his plans are so much bigger than ours!
Keeping that in mind, day two was busy, productive, and such a blessing! We have heard so many stories of how that Lord has been at work at each site and within our team! Work groups are beginning to see the fruits of their labors, and conversations are full of grace and seasoned with salt. Our students are working and serving with a smile and have had such a positive attitude in the midst of all the hard work.
We have seen and truly experienced the power of your prayers and thank you again for being faithful in that. Adults and students have shared with the group how they have seen God answer prayers and how they have seen God throughout the day. Demolition is continuing for some sites, painting is continuing on others, and the house is coming along quickly! It is so encouraging!
Tonight, David Meredith spoke from Romans 12:2 about God's will for our life. He challenged our students to be aware of what is transforming our lives and examine what our mind is being conformed by. He reminded the students that what you put into your mind will be put out into your actions.
We are looking forward to another Jesus-filled day! (that was Ben Pottorff's contribution) :)
