We are here, through with day 1 and amazed already at how the Lord uses His people to advance His kingdom and be His hands and feet.  Ms. Tillie is one amazing lady!

There is a team of 7 of us here -  Alan and Corrie Watts, Rusti Morrison, Rita Carrithers, Anni Grant, Carol Krake and Kelly James.  We started out our day touring Mission Arlington.  You can go to www.missionarlington.org to find out more information on the facility itself...but a basic overview - Ms. Tillie started this mission 23 years ago with the idea to take the church to the people.  She wanted to be the hands and feet of Christ and bring the message of John 3:16 to them.  Today they have a clothing closet, medical clinic, dental clinic, food pantry, delivery service for furniture, and over 265 mission congregations and bible studies meeting in neighborhoods and multi-housing units.  They serve thousands of people every year and share the gospel strategically with all they come in contact with

We jumped right in today.  Part of our team sorted clothes and scouted out the clothes closet so we could learn to be as strategic as possible with our closet at home.  Others cleaned the dental clinic.  Others went on pick ups for donated items all over the city.  And when we were done with that - as a team we went to an apartment complex and had an impromptu bible school with the kids.  We played elbow tag, octopus tag, freeze tag (do you get the picture) and shared the story of Easter and talked with kids one on one about Jesus.  They were just so precious and each one has a name and a need for our Savior.  So - we will be with them throughout the week - and our hearts are already with them.

But the coolest part about this trip is that our hearts are to bring this back to Crestwood.  Every part of this trip can be done at home.  We can play with kids in our own backyards.  We can impact our community.  Every member of this team is a leader in the areas of trying to expand Mission Crestwood.  God is teaching each one of us and showing us what it would look like for CBC to minister as effectively as possible to our community.  So be in prayer for us as we love on kids, sort clothes and get around Texas (because or GPS does not like us!  :) )

We will write more tomorrow.  Love to all and we are blessed to call you all brothers and sisters!
