We were blessed with an incredible rest of the day, yesterday! All of the work sites came back a bit early to get washed up and ready to go out to eat and bowling. All the vans went to different restaurants and we all met at Lucky Strikz. We were able to bowl several games and had the entire place filled! They can house 129 people for sure! We appreciate them letting us invade their bowling alley and we appreciate their wonderful hospitality! It was a great way to get away, relax, and enjoy!
We had a quick turnaround time after we got home from bowling. The kids needed to grab their Bibles and head to worship, but we had all the doors locked and the kids were in a pickle and couldn’t get their stuff! Oops! So, worship started a little late and the kids were tired but we God still deserved our best!
Ben spoke from Genesis 6 and through the grace of our Lord, He revealed himself in incredible ways last night. The Lord spoke directly through Ben and challenged the kids to be real; to not pretend to commit. He asked the students, “What do you feel that God wants from you?” From that, the Lord blessed us with a humbling invitation time. The power of the Holy Spirit filled the room and students were brought to their knees in prayer, seeking forgiveness, and the restoration that Christ offers through His Son, Jesus Christ. WOW!!! Just another thing that only God can get the credit for!!
Today (Thursday) is our last “official” work day and the kids were real tired this morning! But with a hot breakfast, a brief meeting, and Steve’s “Thought for the Day,” they were off and running in no time! Tonight we will be able to hear personal stories of how the Lord has been working through the students and how their week has been going. It will be their time to share! Tomorrow the students will be able to work in the morning if they choose, and then either go to New Orleans, Gulfport, the beach or more. It’ll be well worth it after a hard week’s worth!
Students from the First Baptist Church of Bay St. Louis work site send a shout out to everyone at home… So, “Hi” from Haley, Connor, Weston, Ben, Rachel, Maddie, Sarah, Carly, Ron, Lisa, John, and Frank!
