We next drove to the Ellora Caves, which are dated to the early part of the first millennium AD. Carved by hand by Buddhist monks, they are amazing, but also sad to think of all that effort to a false god.
The best part of the trip was driving there as Havik was in normal form passing trucks going up hill, around corners and through large herds of animals.
Since we missed lunch, we had a late lunch/early dinner at Domino's Pizza, which was a nice change of pace
Clint and Loren had to return to the States earlier than the rest of us, so we took them to the airport around 5pm. We then went shopping, which was fun and back to the hotel.
The restaurant had prepared a special meal for us, but since everyone had already eaten and gone to bed, we did not eat it. Felt pretty bad about that. We have managed to actually get to know the staff at this hotel, although they speak little English. The main guy in the restaurant, named Handy, has been working here years. He started making 62 rupees per month - and the rooms cost 75 rupees per DAY. After 31 years, he is up to 140 dollars per month. He had us pray for him because he was sick; that was cool.
